Responsibilities

  • Cook up the work of the power design team through the schematic design development and contract document phase of a project
  • Set up meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
  • Divvy up the workload to get the deliverable done on time
  • Hold down the fort at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines
  • Do some work sessions
  • Check out project documents for conflicts with other disciplines
  • Write and edit project specifications
  • Go to bat for affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, COs, and incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents
  • Take charge of construction contract administration as needed
  • Do some QA/QC on the work of other Engineers, Project Coordinators or Designers, or BIM Technicians as needed
  • Do other duties as needed

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Engineering
  • 6+ years’ experience doing detailed electrical design work required
  • Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm and hydropower generation is highly preferred
  • Experience with any software for data analysis is preferred, particularly related to electrical engineering
  • Experience with software packages including SKM Power tools for Windows, EasyPower, Matlab, and Visual Basic

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license
  • Previous experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture
