Responsibilities
- Cook up the work of the power design team through the schematic design development and contract document phase of a project
- Set up meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
- Divvy up the workload to get the deliverable done on time
- Hold down the fort at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines
- Do some work sessions
- Check out project documents for conflicts with other disciplines
- Write and edit project specifications
- Go to bat for affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, COs, and incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents
- Take charge of construction contract administration as needed
- Do some QA/QC on the work of other Engineers, Project Coordinators or Designers, or BIM Technicians as needed
- Do other duties as needed
Requirements
- Masters degree in Engineering
- 6+ years’ experience doing detailed electrical design work required
- Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm and hydropower generation is highly preferred
- Experience with any software for data analysis is preferred, particularly related to electrical engineering
- Experience with software packages including SKM Power tools for Windows, EasyPower, Matlab, and Visual Basic
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license
- Previous experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture
