Responsibilities
- Create ELEC (E Sheets) for the Issued for Approval, As-built and Closeout Submittal drawing sets using AutoCAD and/or REVIT.
- Create Architectural (A Sheets) for the same drawing sets using AutoCAD and/or REVIT.
- Achieve compliance with national/local codes and meet client-specific needs and specifications in electrical design.
- Conduct electrical load calculations for each project and validate the sizing of electrical equipment and circuiting.
- Design lighting systems and perform footcandle calculations for normal and emergency operations.
- Collaborate with Electrical Equipment vendors and suppliers to ensure accuracy of the engineered plan sets.
- Select and size electrical equipment, including Up or Down Feeds.
- Manage control operations and wire lug quantities and sizes.
- Conduct design, coordination, and arc flash studies.
- Communicate and coordinate with the Engineering team.
- Inform the Engineering Manager about design issues and resolutions for client/project teams.
- Inform the HVAC Engineering team about electrical requirements and spacing needs.
- Innovate the modular building ELEC design.
- Discuss thoughts and ideas with the Engineering Manager.
- Answer questions for the Cummings Integrated Manufacturing production/operations team.
Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of engineering experience, preferably in commercial and industrial projects; 3+ years of experience may be considered.
- EIT certification is required; PE certification is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under time constraints.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficient in computer software, particularly MS Office (Excel).
- Experience with SKM is beneficial.
- Design experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit is essential.
