Job Responsibilities
- Interact with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members.
- Provide trade-specific system design: layout (using CAD/BIM); calculations (using appropriate software); and other related design services including coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering / internal and external).
- Create basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer or Supervising Engineer.
- Establish basic system application, design, and operational parameters/sequences under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer or Supervising Engineer.
- Participate in the QA/QC process for your work and the work of others as assigned.
- Assist senior engineers and/or senior designers or Supervising Engineer in the on-going determination of project scheduling requirements, staffing requirements, and project budgets.
- Perform construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including field inspections and subsequent detailed inspection reports.
- Support engineering senior or supervising staff in processing RFI’s, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda.
Job Requirements
- The ability to use Revit for system layouts, spatial coordination, and the production of detailed drawings.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the desire and ability to grow to a senior level or supervising level engineer role.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in an accredited University.
- Knowledge to read, review, and evaluate floor plans, sections, and elevations and visualize three-dimensional space in building construction.
- REVIT and the latest version of AutoCAD MEP experience is a must.
- 7+ years' experience or 8+ years working in a consulting firm and assisting with the design of electrical power systems.
- Basic understanding of proper system selection and applicable building codes.
- Understanding of the practical application of LEED principles to building designs.
- EIT credential required, PE required for Senior Engineer designation.
