Overview

Function as a Senior Engineer to review Substation Protection & Control design packages to provide helpful feedback and be a knowledgeable resource to our design teams. Senior Engineer is expected to be familiar with the following aspects of the typical electrical protection system: Relay One-Line Diagrams, Front Views, Bill of Materials, AC Schematics (Three-Lines), DC Schematics, Wiring Diagrams, SCADA/Communication fiber design, Cable Schedules, Construction Process As-Builts, Review/Checking Procedures (QA/QC).

Responsibilities

• Serve as an independent Quality Control Engineer on assigned Protection and Control design package reviews.
• Be a source of industry and client specific knowledge.
• Provide constructive feedback on Protection and Control design packages.
• Work with other reviewers at TRC.
• Attend review meetings to collaboratively discuss provide comments/feedback on design package reviews.
• Be available to design teams to assist with design questions on an as needed basis.
• Perform Engineering Work Using Judgement In Evaluating, Selecting, And Applying Standard Techniques, Procedures, And Criteria For Various Engineering Systems Of Varying Size And Medium To High Complexity Under The Direction Of The Incumbent's Supervisor Or Other Professional Engineer.

Qualifications

• Experience being a project lead on Substation Protection and Control design projects.
• Knowledgeable of Substation Protection and Control project schedules and timelines.
• Proficient in applying Standards, both National and Local. (For example, ANSI/IEEE, National Electric Safety Code, ASTM, AIC, etc.).
• Promote complete and accurate record keeping and be responsible for the quality of all work performed.
• Ability to provide feedback in such a way that fosters learning and growth in others.
• Keep informed of current developments in the areas of responsibility.
• May assist in the professional development, training, and evaluation of department personnel.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of appropriate experience in the designated engineering field.
• Possession of a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited engineering program.
• Possession of a Professional Engineering License is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Possesses solid technical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to collaborate with design engineers and cross discipline.
• Self-motivated and detail oriented.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with engineer software applications (Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD, MicroStation).

Compensation

In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
