Electrical Engineer Instructor 1 or 2

About the role

Montana Technological University invites applications for the faculty position within the Electrical Engineering Department at the Instructor 1 or Instructor 2 Level. The position is tenurable and full-time for the academic year. Instructor Track requires a BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field. Position includes lab director duties. All candidates must have the ability to obtain a PE or EIT license in the state of Montana.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses and labs for the Electrical Engineering Department
• Advise students and student projects
• Develop and maintain laboratory facilities within the Electrical Engineering department
• Provide service to the campus and community
• Participate in Electrical Engineering program development

Required Qualifications for Instructor 1

• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited program
• Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) license as an Electrical Engineer in Montana

Required Qualifications for Instructor 2

• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited program
• Master of Science (MS) in a technical area supporting an EE subject (e.g., engineering disciplines, physics, computer science)
• Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Montana within one year of hire
• College-level teaching experience with demonstrated excellent performance

Preferred Qualifications for Instructor 1

Physical Demands

• Ability to safely lift, carry, and transport laboratory equipment or instructional materials weighing up to 30 pounds
• Ability to ascend and descend flights of stairs while carrying equipment to access multi-level campus facilities and laboratory spaces
