About the role
Montana Technological University invites applications for the faculty position within the Electrical Engineering Department at the Instructor 1 or Instructor 2 Level. The position is tenurable and full-time for the academic year. Instructor Track requires a BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field. Position includes lab director duties. All candidates must have the ability to obtain a PE or EIT license in the state of Montana.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses and labs for the Electrical Engineering Department
- Advise students and student projects
- Develop and maintain laboratory facilities within the Electrical Engineering department
- Provide service to the campus and community
- Participate in Electrical Engineering program development
Required Qualifications for Instructor 1
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited program
- Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) license as an Electrical Engineer in Montana
Required Qualifications for Instructor 2
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited program
- Master of Science (MS) in a technical area supporting an EE subject (e.g., engineering disciplines, physics, computer science)
- Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Montana within one year of hire
- College-level teaching experience with demonstrated excellent performance

Physical Demands
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and transport laboratory equipment or instructional materials weighing up to 30 pounds
- Ability to ascend and descend flights of stairs while carrying equipment to access multi-level campus facilities and laboratory spaces
