About the Role

Design and support the electrical systems that power custom-engineered industrial equipment. Work alongside mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to develop electrical solutions from concept through production, testing, and commissioning. This role is ideal for an engineer with 3–5 years of industrial manufacturing experience ready to take ownership of projects and solve complex engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

Electrical System Design

  • Design electrical systems for custom industrial equipment and engineered assemblies
  • Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and power distribution drawings
  • Select electrical components based on project requirements, customer specifications, and applicable industry standards
  • Develop engineering documentation to support manufacturing, assembly, installation, and commissioning
  • Ensure electrical designs meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements

Engineering Documentation & Project Support

  • Create and maintain bills of materials (BOMs), electrical drawings, and engineering documentation
  • Review project specifications and implement engineering revisions throughout project execution
  • Participate in design reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate engineering deliverables to support project schedules and customer expectations
  • Maintain accurate documentation throughout the entire project lifecycle

Manufacturing & Technical Support

  • Partner closely with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, production, and project management teams
  • Support production, equipment testing, system validation, commissioning, and startup activities
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues during fabrication, assembly, and field startup
  • Provide technical guidance to manufacturing teams and assist with resolving production challenges
  • Help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
  • 3–5 years of electrical engineering experience supporting industrial manufacturing, OEM equipment, custom machinery, or engineered systems
  • Experience designing electrical systems for industrial equipment, machinery, process equipment, or automated manufacturing systems
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD, or similar electrical design software
  • Experience developing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and engineering documentation
  • Knowledge of industrial controls, motor controls, power distribution, instrumentation, VFDs, and automation systems
  • Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment and industrial communication networks
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, UL, or other applicable electrical codes and standards
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams

Work Environment

Primarily office-based with regular interaction throughout an active manufacturing facility. Collaboration with engineering, production, and operations teams is essential. PPE—including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety footwear—is required when entering production areas. The environment includes typical industrial conditions such as noise, dust, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
