What You Will Do
- Provide technical advice and guidance for assigned electrical engineering projects.
- Aid the Senior Engineer in developing Electrical Engineering projects using new technology to enhance site safety, efficiency, cost control, quality control, and environmental protection.
- Review, investigate, and develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned Engineering projects.
- Manage small to medium site construction, expansion, or modification projects, and assist the Senior Engineer on larger/complex site planning, construction, expansion, or modifications.
- Administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment.
- Develop a working knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations relevant to your area of assignment.
- Aid the Senior Engineer in contributing to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated Engineering areas.
- Evaluate and implement new methods and techniques for operational improvement.
- Represent the site on company-sponsored steering committees, task forces, or teams.
- Perform other duties as required.
What You Bring To Freeport
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline with 3 years of related experience, or Master's degree with 2 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles and practices, including Mechanical and Process Engineering techniques.
- Ability to research and analyze complex information and draw valid conclusions.
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Advanced degree or Professional Engineering (PE) Certification preferred.
- Experience with or classes related to Power Systems Engineering.
- Familiarity with Power System Modeling software like SKM, eTAP, etc.
- Experience with industrial AC and DC motors, VFD’s, and plant instrumentation.
- Familiarity with powerline layout, engineering, and construction.
- Familiarity with MV power systems.
- Leadership and construction/mining experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of NEC & NFPA70E Regulations.
- Experience with designing Power, Instrumentation, and Controls Systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
What We Offer You
The estimated annual pay range for this role is $87,500 - $120,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits, or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
Employees who are required to work on-site are eligible for a $750 monthly housing allowance, provided they meet program guidelines.
