About the role
We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join our Aerospace Design Group in Merritt Island, Florida!
Responsibilities
- Work alongside a talented team of engineers and architects to design launch facilities, processing centers, ground support systems, military installations, and large-scale industrial equipment.
- Lead the design of medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems, standby power systems, and a wide range of building electrical systems—from grounding, lightning protection, and lighting controls to fire detection, VESDA, access control, hazardous leak detection, paging and warning systems, CCTV, gas monitoring, and telecommunications.
- Perform detailed engineering analyses such as load flow, short circuit, arc flash, cable sizing, conduit fill, and protective device coordination.
- Develop and produce high-quality diagrams, schematics, bills of materials, and build-to-print documentation for control and monitoring systems.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary collaboration and contribute to space exploration.
- Select electrical and instrumentation components for ground support equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited or equivalent)
- At least 7 years of relevant experience
- Active PE license
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of hazardous location wiring, material compatibility
- Experience selecting electrical and instrumentation components for ground support equipment is a strong advantage
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with UFC, UFGS, SpecsIntact, SpecLink
- Knowledge of NFPA 70, 70E, 101, 497, and 780
- Familiarity with Creo
- Experience with AGI32 and SKM Power Tools
