Electrical Engineer I – Early Career (2026 Starts)
About the role
Blue Origin is seeking talented engineers to join our mission to lower the cost of access to space and enable a future where millions of people live and work in space for the benefit of Earth. This position will play a critical role in advancing space technology and ensuring safe and repeatable space flight.
Responsibilities
- Your work may involve many aspects of applied electronics and electrical engineering including avionics hardware (from PCBs to electrical systems), software, hardware in the loop, instrumentation & controls, system test, power systems, communication systems, mechanical systems, propulsion systems, manufacturing, and systems engineering.
- Enforce safety policies during test planning and operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with applied electronics and electrical engineering including avionics hardware (from PCBs to electrical systems), software, hardware in the loop, etc.
- CAD software (AutoCAD or other drafting programs).
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Analyzing and troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Relevant internship/co-op and/or hands-on experience that demonstrate development of both technical skills as well as leadership qualities.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs.
- Flexible and adaptable mindset.
- Self-driven with the ability to seek out requirements with minimal direction.
Desired
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
- Hands-on project experience.
- Experience with Design and test of Avionics (electrical, mechanical), Electrical systems with a focus on reliability and efficiency, Circuit Design, Radiation Effects, Robotics and motion control, C, C++, Matlab, Simulink.
Pay
Compensation range varies by location:
- CA: $87,816.00 - $122,942.40
- CO: $80,499.00 - $112,697.55
- WA: $87,816.00 - $122,942.40
Schedule
Primary locations: Kent, WA, Los Angeles, CA, Denver, CO
