Electrical Engineer I

About the role

As an Electrical Engineer I in our Chapel Hill office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all.

Responsibilities

• Performing load calculations
• Determining system sizing and layouts
• Calculating equipment sizes
• Selecting equipment
• Completing field surveys
• Reviewing equipment shop drawings
• Working with and being mentored by experienced engineers
• Helping to mentor designers
• Leading electrical project teams
• Writing specifications
• Participating in project meetings with clients and other consultants
• Supporting construction-phase work

Requirements

• BSEE/BSAE from ABET accredited school
• EIT certification (Passed the FE exam) a plus
• Internship experience in the MEP consulting engineering field preferred

Qualifications

• Expertise in at least one discipline area such as fire protection, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing/piping, electrical, technology, instrumentation and controls, process or lighting systems
• Strong spoken and written communications skills
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Quick technical comprehension and motivation focused on client outcomes
• Able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks
• Effective working individually and within team environments
