About the role

The Electrical Engineer, CS SVC Tech Spec III, Service Engineering - Weekend Support plays a crucial role in the Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, contributing to the maintenance and improvement of aircraft electrical systems. This position requires a strong foundation in aircraft design and construction principles, along with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for an entire engineering project of major complexity within established scope.
  • Makes technical decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive engineering activities.
  • Applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge.
  • Led the development of innovative principles and ideas.
  • Acts independently to determine improved methods and/or procedures to optimize technical product, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Works under consultative direction; uses independent judgment to accomplish objectives.
  • Develops standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.
  • Conceives and plans investigations of broad areas of importance for which engineering precedents are lacking in areas critical to the program.

Requirements

  • A fundamental understanding of aircraft design and construction principles.
  • The ability to effectively work with and support a multi-discipline team of engineers, mechanics, technicians, Quality Control, upper management, etc.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of installations related to Electrical Systems.
  • Experience with Illustrated Parts Catalog, Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Systems Schematics.
  • Flexibility to move quickly from one assignment to the next and the ability to handle multiple issues simultaneously.

Preferred Skills

  • Previous Gulfstream engineering experience. Gulfstream G500/G600/G700/G800 experience is a plus.
  • Experience using computer aided design tools such as CCD, CATIA V5, AutoCAD, L Cable / E CAD, Capital Harness, or similar software used in design of aircraft electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with Airworthiness Authority regulations and showing compliance to such regulations with repairs and rework instructions in a post-production repair station environment.
  • Basic Knowledge of Part 25 Certification for EWIS and methods of Component Qualification.

Education and Experience Requirements

An advanced degree in engineering or related curriculum is preferred. The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
