Electrical Engineer- Buildings

About the role

This Electrical Engineer will assess existing facilities and develop electrical designs in support of various Garver Buildings projects.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, plan, design, and commission existing facilities components and systems
• Develop electrical designs for facility electrical, lighting, telecommunications, security, and fire alarm systems
• Coordinate with other support disciplines and regional offices
• Assist project managers in project management
• Follow quality assurance and quality control plans
• Manage multiple assignments concurrently
• Keep accurate and up-to-date project accounting on all assigned projects
• Perform electrical related calculations
• Utilize Microsoft Excel-based calculation tools for design calculations
• Communicate with and interact with building owner representatives and architectural clients
• Participate in client relations and project pursuits

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering with an electrical focus from an ABET-accredited university or college
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
• 5 to 15 years of building design and construction industry experience
• Proven experience overseeing electrical designs, including detailed plans and specifications for building projects
• Techically competent in building electrical systems including power distribution systems, lighting systems, and telecommunications systems
• Experience with Autodesk Revit
• Strong communication skills
• Proficient with MS Office Suite
