Responsibilities
- Review aircraft modifications and repairs performed by L3Harris and issue approvals on behalf of the FAA where appropriate.
- Review electrical aspects of military aircraft modifications and repairs performed by L3Harris for compliance with military airworthiness certification criteria and issue approval recommendations where appropriate.
- Act as ODA Task Leader for some projects, tracking certification progress, schedules, budgets, and resolution of issues on behalf of the LHX ODA.
- Guide other Unit Members, the applicant team, customers, and vendors through complex certification tasks.
- Provide input on establishment of new processes and standards for showing and finding compliance across programs to help the organization meet airworthiness standards while remaining competitive in the industry.
- Mentor Unit Member candidates as they gain experience necessary to achieve FAA delegations.
- Familiarity with FAA Order 8110.101 Type Certification for Military Commercial Derivative Aircraft.
- Experience with safety analysis, lightning, or EWIS approvals.
- Willing and able to travel up to 10%.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with nine (9) years of experience with Aircraft electrical systems and 14 CFR Part 23 and/or Part 25 requirements.
- Graduate Degree with seven (7) years of experience with Aircraft electrical systems and 14 CFR Part 23 and/or Part 25 requirements.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of experience with Aircraft electrical systems and 14 CFR Part 23 and/or Part 25 requirements.
- MIL-HDBK-516 military airworthiness certification.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
