About the role
Stantec's Berkley, MI office is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their team. This position will leverage electrical engineering expertise and strong client service skills to deliver projects that exceed client expectations.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate opportunities and challenges, incorporating consulting and technical skills into client interactions.
- Nurture existing client relationships and pursue new business opportunities.
- Lead engineering duties on various projects, including data collection and design component analysis.
- Conduct interpretations of drawings, codes, and other materials, perform calculations, and prepare project specifications.
- Coordinate with architectural, interior, and other engineering disciplines, and assist in developing and managing project scopes, budgets, staffing, and schedules.
- Perform field work such as investigations and observations, lead project coordination meetings, and assist in training and mentoring.
- Apply sustainable design principles and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- Professional Engineer licensure with ability to obtain registration.
- Experience collaborating with electrical contractors on Design-Build projects or other project delivery methods.
- Knowledge of construction processes and integration of design elements with other disciplines.
- In-depth understanding of power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
- Experience in higher education, science & technology, commercial workplace, and industrial sectors.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards, and sustainable design principles.
- Proficiency in Revit MEP, Navisworks, AGI 32, load analysis software, Microsoft Office, and Newforma Project Center.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills
