Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Altium).
- Select appropriate electrical components and materials based on project requirements and specifications.
- Perform circuit analysis, simulations, and calculations to ensure system performance and safety.
- Develop and execute test plans and procedures to validate the functionality and reliability of electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during development, testing, and production phases.
- Collaborate effectively with mechanical, software, and other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems.
- Document design specifications, test results, and other technical information accurately and comprehensively.
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts for design processes and methodologies.
- Potentially mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering design and development.
- Strong understanding of fundamental electrical engineering principles, including circuit theory, power systems, and control systems.
- Experience with specific areas of expertise relevant to the role, such as analog/digital circuit design, embedded systems, power electronics, instrumentation, communication protocols.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., UL, IEC, IEEE).
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience supporting government programs.
- Proficiency in using electrical CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD Electrical, Fusion 360, SolidWorks Electrical, EPLAN Software, and ETAP).
- Experience with IT systems and cloud-based technologies.
