Responsibilities
- Interact with system users to translate their requirements into systems, hardware, and software requirements and design.
- Participate in the development of test strategies.
- Apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents.
- Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes.
- Work with supervisors to ensure compliance with accepted practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science and 10+ years of relevant experience.
- 5+ years in the Department of Defense contracting market of major weapon systems product development and acquisitions.
- Experience using mathematical models to analyze electrical circuits, power distribution, and system efficiency.
- Experience identifying and resolving problems within electrical systems during design, testing, or installation phases.
- Understanding of the interrelationships of circuits.
- Experience exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments.
Qualifications
- Experience building and testing experimental models of electrical devices to evaluate functionality and performance.
- Experience creating schematics and blueprints for electrical components and systems within a project, considering factors like power requirements, load calculations, and safety regulations.
- Possess a professional certification such as a Certified Technical Professional (CTP), Professional Engineer (PE), or similar.
