About the role
Join HGA's Rochester, MN electrical engineering practice. We're looking for an Electrical Engineer or Electrical Designer to assess project requirements, collaborate with clients, and design sustainable electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Assess project requirements and break down tasks
- Determine project scope, budget, and staffing
- Leverage expertise in electrical design
- Define project requirements and perform building load calculations
- Analyze power distribution systems and size equipment
- Prepare and edit specifications
- Document existing conditions and troubleshoot complex issues
- Develop engineering studies and schematic designs
- Design and integrate alternative energy sources into electrical distribution
- Review drawings and documents for compliance
- Affirm drawings and designs meet code compliance, owner requirements, design standards, and HGA's quality expectations
- Leverage Revit as a design tool
- Aid in the education and development of design staff
- Answer questions as a resource
Requirements
- BS or MS degree in electrical engineering
- 3 to 5+ years of experience in power systems design for healthcare, commercial, and/or government projects
- Professional licensure or the ability to obtain licensure is highly preferred
- Experience with consulting engineering firms or A/E firms providing electrical design
- Knowledge of current technology applicable to IECC, LEED, and ASHRAE requirements and all applicable codes
- Proficiency with Revit software
- Familiarity with electrical analysis software and sustainable technologies
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
- 3-5+ years of relevant experience
- Professional licensure or ability to obtain licensure
- Experience with consulting engineering firms or A/E firms
- Knowledge of current technology and applicable codes
- Proficiency with Revit software
- Experience with electrical analysis software and sustainable technologies

Pay
The salary range is $71,557 - $73,700, depending on qualifications and experience. Eligible for participation in HGA's benefit programs.
