About the role

HDR Engineering is seeking an Electrical/Senior Electrical Engineer to join one of the largest, fastest-growing, and most comprehensive TMT (Tech, Media, and Telecom) practices in the industry. This role is part of an integrated team responsible for electrical design in support of Data Center and other Mission Critical buildings and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will mentor and train younger electrical engineers while delivering technically excellent design solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design projects from start to finish, coordinating with clients, project managers, architects, engineers, contractors, and other team members.
  • Develop feasibility reports, construction documents, specifications, engineering calculations, RFI responses, shop drawing reviews, and perform site investigations and construction administration.
  • Mentor and manage a team to foster collaboration, career growth, high-quality construction documents, and client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate the work of Electrical Engineers, EITs, and BIM Specialists within a multidisciplinary team throughout project development.
  • Assume a substantial role in electrical design for data center/mission critical projects, aligning with client requirements for reliability, growth, cost, sustainability, and flexibility.
  • Provide detailed design and coordination with multidisciplinary team members, lead electrical discussions in design meetings, and conduct work sessions for schematic, design development, and contract documents.
  • Participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance and provide design support during construction, including field observations, submittal/shop drawing review, and RFI support.
  • Some travel to job sites or other HDR offices may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis (required).
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis (preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license (required).
  • Previous experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting, power, systems) (required).
  • Previous data center/mission critical experience with an architectural/engineering or consulting firm (preferred).
  • Strong computer skills using AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI, and Easy Power (required).
  • Strong operating knowledge of Revit MEP (preferred).

Pay

The targeted salary range for this position is $79,734 – $148,077, depending on skills, experience, education, and geographical location.

Schedule

Full-time, regular employee status.
