Electrical Engineer
About the role
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team at HDR. This role involves coordinating the electrical design team on large institutional/industrial projects, ensuring compliance with codes, and leading the technical aspects of project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Cook up the work of the electrical design team from schematic design through contract documents
- Hold meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
- Take charge of the electrical lead on numerous projects
- Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
- Guide the activities of other electrical engineers, coordinators, and technicians
- Carry out quality assurance and quality control on the work of others
- Write and edit electrical specifications and choose equipment, electrical systems, and devices
- Collaborate with and assist other disciplines with addendums, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders, and ensure these changes are incorporated into project documents
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
- Previous experience in electrical design of buildings
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the field
- A California Professional Engineer (PE) license
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare, education, sciences, laboratories, civic, technology, and data centers
- California Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Interest or experience in sustainable design/LEED
