Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of industrial power distribution systems, including 11kV and 400V infrastructure.
- Act as the technical lead for electrical engineering activities across assigned projects, ensuring delivery to time, cost and quality objectives.
- Manage the interface with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and support new electrical connections and technical agreements.
- Produce and review engineering documentation including specifications, technical reports, drawings and quality plans.
- Carry out technical reviews of contractor designs, engineering changes and commissioning documentation.
- Support contractor selection, contract management and technical query resolution.
- Oversee installation, testing and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards and safe systems of work.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Construction Managers to ensure successful project delivery.
- Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and internal engineering teams.
- Support business development activities, including technical input into tenders and proposals.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong experience designing industrial power distribution systems (11kV and 400V).
- Experience managing interfaces with DNOs and/or National Grid infrastructure.
- Proven experience delivering electrical engineering projects within highly regulated industries such as nuclear, power generation, defence, oil & gas or other heavy industrial sectors.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations and construction project delivery.
- Experience producing engineering calculations, technical specifications and design documentation.
- Chartered Engineer status and/or a recognised project management qualification (such as APM PMQ) would be advantageous.
- HV installation and testing experience would be beneficial.
Benefits
- Salary between £60,000 – £65,000, DOE.
