Electrical Engineer
About the role
Precitech designs and manufactures ultra-precision machining solutions for freeform diamond turning, milling, and grinding used to produce optical lenses, mold inserts, mirrors, and precision mechanical components. Our machines produce rotationally symmetric, asymmetric, freeform, and sculpted geometries with form tolerances in the sub-micron range and nanometer surface finishes.
The Electrical Engineer will manage and direct the design and specification of wiring lists, schematics, circuit boards, and controls components for ultra-precision, computer numerically controlled machine tools. Collaborate with internal teams including marketing/product managers, application engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to deliver and support products in the field.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and engineer new, unique electrical systems that meet customer requirements.
- Represent panel layouts, schematics, wire run lists, and assembly procedures using CAD systems and documentation such as Bill of Materials, specifications, and routing instructions.
- Troubleshoot electrical noise and transients, controllers, servo systems, PMAC (Programmable Multi-Axis Controller), or other sophisticated electronic equipment.
- Perform engineering changes with extreme attention to detail, assessing how changes affect past, present, and future products and documentation.
- Actively participate in product design reviews and work directly with engineering staff to develop cost-effective solutions.
- Contribute to written instruction and operation manuals for Precitech's products.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of work experience or Master's degree with 1+ years of work experience in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience using electrical equipment such as signal generators, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.
- General programming knowledge (C, C++, or similar).
- Experience in data acquisition, analog and digital signal processing.
- Experience with amplifiers, filters, encoders, motion controllers, and feedback loops.
- Experience using MATLAB for modeling, data analysis, and simulations.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills through a structured approach and timely solution generation.
- Travel to customer sites up to 10% of the time.
Pay
Salary range: $95,000 – $125,000 USD (salaried position). The actual salary offered will be based on experience, skills, qualifications, market/business considerations, and geographic location.
