Job Title: Electrical EngineerJob Description This Electrical Engineer role focuses on supporting high voltage laboratory activities through hands-on testing, data collection, and system validation. The position is well-suited for an engineer with a solid foundation in circuit design and data acquisition, combined with experience in either power electronics or programming. You will collaborate closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure reliable test execution, improve lab processes, and enhance overall system performance and efficiency. Responsibilities Support day-to-day high voltage laboratory testing activities and ongoing engineering projects.Assist in the design, testing, and validation of electrical circuits and systems to meet performance and safety requirements.Conduct electrical testing, collect and analyze test data, and clearly document and report results.Help develop, refine, and maintain laboratory procedures, test methods, and related documentation.Troubleshoot and assist in diagnosing issues in electrical systems, circuits, and test setups, including protection circuits and isolators.Support laboratory maintenance, including calibration and upkeep of test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on testing methods, lab efficiency, and system reliability.Partner with cross-functional teams in engineering, quality, and manufacturing to support testing needs and resolve technical issues.Maintain strong attention to detail in all testing activities, documentation, and technical reporting.Apply knowledge of fuses, protection circuits, and electrical safety practices when working with high voltage systems and test procedures. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.At least 2 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on circuit design and data acquisition.Hands-on experience working in a laboratory environment, preferably in a high voltage lab.Strong practical skills using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other electrical test and measurement equipment.Demonstrated background in circuit design, troubleshooting, and electrical testing.Experience in either power electronics or programming, with the ability to apply this knowledge to lab testing and system validation.Proficiency in developing and following test procedures for electrical and high voltage systems.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret test data and resolve technical issues.Excellent communication and presentation skills to clearly convey technical information to various stakeholders.High attention to detail and the ability to lead technical efforts within laboratory and test activities. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working specifically in high voltage testing environments.Strong background in both power electronics and programming, enabling broader support for lab automation and advanced testing.Experience improving laboratory systems, processes, or automation to enhance efficiency and consistency.Familiarity with fuses, isolators, and protection circuits in high voltage and power electronics applications.Experience with data acquisition systems and tools used for capturing and analyzing electrical test data.Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and manufacturing. Work Environment This role is based in a hands-on high voltage laboratory environment where you will work closely with electrical test equipment and instrumentation. You will regularly use oscilloscopes, multimeters, data acquisition systems, and other specialized tools to perform testing, validation, and troubleshooting of electrical circuits and systems. The work involves structured test procedures, careful documentation, and adherence to safety practices appropriate for high voltage and power electronics applications. You will collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams in a setting that emphasizes continuous improvement of lab processes, test methods, and system automation. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Prospect Heights, IL. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $45.00/hr.
