About the role
The successful candidate will be expected to develop and manage medium-long term asset management plans for electrical plant assets to achieve business objectives (safe, low cost, quality production).
Responsibilities
- Undertakes assignments of varying scope and complexity involving a range of standard technical problem solving techniques and computational methods.
- Prepare and effectively administer budgets for projects/programs and identify opportunities for reducing costs.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes (NEC, NEMA, NFPA, IEEE, IEC) and best practices in electrical design.
- Use AutoCAD and power system analysis software (ETAP).
- Assist Operations with the strategic maintenance and management of critical electrical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, transformers, etc.
- Support Operations in project execution by completing maintainability analysis and operational readiness activities.
- Execute and oversee complex electrical engineering design, analysis, and validation activities, ensuring manufacturability and reliability through all development phases.
- Project Management and execution of asset improvement and asset integrity projects (i.e. multi-discipline engineering).
- Completes life cycle costing analysis of plant assets to determine the optimum whole of life asset strategy.
- Hold influence and governance for the statutory compliance and inspection process, developing and defining methods and process of inspection.
- Aid maintenance in the development of repair SOW for electrical equipment and electrical infrastructure.
- Ensure the optimal reliability of the plant by effectively implementing asset management and maintenance improvement programs.
- Supports the Maintenance Reliability engineer in development of the electrical asset maintenance strategies.
- Create and maintain Asset Integrity Register for site electrical assets.
- Develop 5-to-10-year planning to provide guidance on capital budgeting for electrical infrastructure maintenance and improvements.
- Perform risk analysis on current and future site equipment and/or activities.
- Lead Electrical Works program for site.
- Practice site safety procedures and participate as a frontline role in monitoring site for safety adherence.
- Maintain site energy consumption and ensure electrical capacity is maintained.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of electrical engineering experience in an industrial environment.
- Project Management Experience.
- Experience in industrial / chemical facility is preferred.
- Experience with TiO2 production process / chemical manufacturing / electrical utility / heavy industry, is preferred.
- Electrical Code and Power Systems Knowledge.
- Experience working with high voltage/current systems (up to 480Vac / 2400Vac / 13.2kV).
- Practice of Reliability Engineering.
