About the role
This position will report to the Vice President in charge of the electrical staff in the Virginia Beach Office.
Responsibilities
- Provide exposure to many different facility and client types.
- Further expand your technical knowledge.
- Mentor you to become a well-rounded consulting engineer.

- Pursue the PE exam.
- Dive into designing quality projects from day one. Lead system design, including AGI lighting and power calculations and layouts surveying existing conditions, assisting in project management and coordination, and lots more fun stuff.
- Help us tackle our clients’ problems.
- Prepare and present technical reports and presentations.
- Help maintain our 95% referral rate and high contract performance ratings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or Architectural Engineering (Electrical / Lighting focus).
- 4 to 9 years’ experience in lighting and power design.
- Experience with AGI32, SKM and/or Easypower a plus.
- Experience in production of construction documents and follow-on construction services. Position includes performing field surveys, and preparing code analyses, calculations, equipment selections, and specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Proficient in either AutoCAD or Revit.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to conduct day-long field surveys outdoors and indoors in conditioned and unconditioned spaces, including walking up to 10-20k steps in a day, climbing up and down a 6-foot ladder, kneeling, squatting, and bending.
- Ability to obtain site access at client locations.
- Ability to travel up to 12 nights in a year, in addition to day-long field surveys.
