About the role
AECOM is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will contribute to decarbonization and electrification efforts while enhancing sustainable practices and skills.
Responsibilities
- Supports conceptual design through construction administration and post-occupancy phases
- Performs specific and moderate portions of broader assignments under the guidance of experienced engineers
- Correlates basic engineering data using established procedures
- Reviews shop drawings during construction administration phase
- Prepares engineering-related calculations and develops drawings and visual aids
- Writes reports and memos for internal and external purposes based on findings
- Works cooperatively with managers and other employees to achieve company goals
- Ensures discipline plans meet project scope, quality, and schedule requirements
- Stays current on codes and technologies relevant to electrical disciplines
- Supports site visits for data collection and evaluation of electrical systems, equipment, components, and materials
- Develops designs within a BIM design environment
- Completes assigned engineering and design tasks in accordance with client specifications and applicable codes and standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited university and passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EIT/FE)
- Strong experience with Revit and AutoCAD-based design projects
- 4+ years of electrical engineering experience within a consulting or design-build firm
- Effective communication skills: articulate, assertive, and confident
- Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills
- Desire to be mentored by leadership
- Experience with sustainable design
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy/quality of work
- Proficient in the use of drafting software including Revit and AutoCAD
- Power system studies experience utilizing SKM, ETAP, or Easy Power
- Lighting calculation experience with Visual, AGI32, or Elumtools
- Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing, and standard Microsoft software
- Ability to work with and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team

This position will not offer sponsorship now or in the future. The offered rate of compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $90000 to $120000 per year.
