About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team in Orange, CA. The ideal candidate will contribute to the expansion of our knowledge base, support sustainable design practices, and enjoy growth opportunities in sustainable practices and skills enhancement training.

Responsibilities

  • Electrical engineering support from conceptual design through construction administration and post-occupancy
  • Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer
  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures
  • Supports the review of shop drawings during the construction administration phase
  • Prepares engineering related calculations and develops drawings and visual aids
  • Writes reports and memos for internal and external purposes based on findings
  • Works cooperatively with managers and other employees to achieve company's mission
  • Ensures discipline plans that are created meet overall project team requirements for project scope, quality and schedule
  • Stays current on codes and technologies appropriate to the electrical disciplines
  • Supports on-site visits for the purpose of data collection and evaluation of electrical systems, equipment, components and materials for projects
  • Develops designs within a BIM design environment
  • Completes assigned engineering and design tasks in accordance with client specified criteria and applicable codes and standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or related field
  • +2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited University and has passed the fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EIT/FE) preferred
  • Strong communication skills: articulate, assertive, and confident
  • Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills
  • Desire to be mentored by leadership
  • Experience with sustainable design
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy/quality of work
  • Proficient in the use of drafting software including Revit and AutoCAD
  • Power system studies experience utilizing SKM, ETAP or Easy Power
  • Lighting calculation experience with Visual, AGI32 or Elumtools
  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard Microsoft software
  • Ability to work with and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team

Additional Information

This position will not offer sponsorship now or in the future. Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $76,000 to $90,000 per year.
