About the role

The Electrical Director of Projects oversees the strategic leadership and execution oversight for a portfolio of large, complex projects across multiple regions and customers. They also serve as a key bridge between field operations and executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily and long-term performance of assigned projects led by APMs, PMs, and Sr. PMs
  • Support development of labor plans, bell curves, and change order logs for WIP readiness
  • Drive accountability for margin preservation, change order pricing, and job cost forecasting
  • Coordinate with General Superintendents to ensure field/office alignment on schedule and manpower
  • Prepare project health snapshots for review by the Operations Manager
  • Own WIP preparation for assigned projects, ensuring PMs are providing timely and accurate data
  • Support identification of financial risk items, write-down exposure, and potential recovery strategies
  • Review and validate change orders and cost impacts with PMs before submission
  • Collaborate with the Ops Manager on project reviews and executive updates
  • Serve as senior project liaison for key clients when necessary
  • Support PMs in navigating difficult customer situations, including scope disputes or schedule issues
  • Promote consistency in how InPwr presents change management and billing across all assigned jobs
  • Assist customers, field personnel, and department with design changes to the original scope of work
  • Work with field, General Superintendent, and Project Managers to estimate field change order work
  • Assist design team in coordination with the operations department for changes to as built drawings
  • Attend and contribute to 20% and 60% project reviews
  • Conduct pre WIP reviews with each PM on a monthly basis
  • Interview and provide hiring input for PM, APM, and PC candidates
  • Maintain structured notes and documentation for all project and personnel reviews

Requirements

3-5 years of experience as a Senior PM preferred. 10+ years in Project Management – electrical background preferred but not required. Understanding of basic electrical theory. Strong attention to detail and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. High level of discretion with confidential information.
