About the role
The Electrical Designer III plays a key role in the design and documentation of electrical systems for Trane Water-Cooled and Air-Cooled Chiller products. This position applies electrical design knowledge and CAD tools to develop schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts and supporting documentation for new product development, product updates and manufacturing support. Reporting to a Lead Designer, this role may also work within a collaborative team environment led by a Senior Designer to support product quality, performance and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Electrical design and schematic development for HVAC systems.
- Create wiring diagrams and top-level schematics.
- Route and model 3D wiring harnesses in Creo Parametric.
- Create and maintain bill of materials for electrical assemblies.
- Create and revise electrical assembly drawings, layouts, and design documentation.
- Assist with prototype builds.
- Maintain bills of materials and engineering documentation.
- Develop component placement concepts and review with engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Deliver technical designs to meet project and product requirements.
- Design electrical systems, schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts for HVAC products.
- Lead portions of design activities by coordinating with engineers, manufacturing teams, and other stakeholders to meet project goals.
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate electrical design documentation and revisions.
- Support and help drive prototype builds.
- Take ownership of assigned design tasks and help keep deliverables on schedule.
- Support continuous improvement efforts in design processes, documentation quality, and product reliability.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Design or Engineering Technology (or related discipline) and at least 5-years of work experience using computer aided graphic solutions is required; OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of an Associate’s Degree.
- Experience in SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, Pro Engineer or CAD/AutoCAD.
Schedule
Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.
Pay
Annual Base Salary Range: $56,800.00 - $80,604.99. Compensation Type: Exception Hourly. Incentive Eligible: No. Sales Commission Eligible: No.
