About the role

The Electrical Designer plays a crucial role in designing the infrastructure that powers and enhances various commercial and industrial projects. This includes the design of electrical power distribution and lighting systems for buildings, industrial facilities, and agricultural operations. The position involves working closely with Engineers and Project Managers to prepare detailed construction documents and assist during the construction support phase.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare complete construction documents and assist during the construction support phase.
  • Create layout plans, sections, and details to specified CAD standards and generate 3D models of electrical systems.
  • Develop on-line diagrams, power and lighting plans.
  • Provide direction and distribute work to Technicians.
  • Review and back-check Technician's work.
  • Cover communication with clients and/or contractors regarding RFI's and field questions.
  • Review shop drawings.
  • Develop design skills to support the advancement of technical expertise.
  • Attend internal and client coordination meetings.
  • Occasional travel for site observations and field measurements may be required.

Requirements

  • Certificate in construction-related design/drafting or at least 3 years of directly related experience.
  • OR at least 4 years of directly related experience in lieu of certificate.
  • Basic understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC).

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and codes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills

Pay

$28.50 - $33.50 per hour.
