About the role
This position is responsible for the preparation and development of technical drawings and specifications of electrical systems for ground mount utility-scale solar PV power plants. The role requires an understanding of Electrical Engineering principles, along with the ability to analyze information and present it clearly to guide electrical installation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate electrical system requirements for utility-scale solar PV power plants
- Develop electrical layouts with AutoCAD
- Prepare and revise electrical plans and layouts
- Calculate material quantities for Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure design compatibility
Requirements
- Minimum eight (8) years of relevant work experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
- Readiness and eagerness to learn new technologies
- AS in Technology from an ABET-accredited university (desired)
- Experience with design of PV projects (desired)
Work Environment
- Work is performed in the office and in the field
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, twist, and lift up to 20 pounds
- May be exposed to weather elements when in the field
- Limited out-of-town travel may be required
