Electrical Design Technician
About the role
IMEG is hiring an Electrical Design Technician in Cincinnati, Ohio, to support the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings. In this role, you will work closely with experienced engineers and consultants to help develop client-focused design solutions, contribute to positive project outcomes, and support project delivery within budget and client expectations. You’ll also collaborate with cross-functional teams supporting HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection project goals.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the design and analysis of electrical systems in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards
- Use engineering software and tools to help produce detailed designs, specifications, and calculations
- Document design decisions and client instructions while monitoring project design progress
- Analyze low- to medium-complexity design tasks and help develop practical, efficient solutions with senior engineers and consultants
- Participate in IMEG quality control processes to help ensure designs meet IMEG standards, industry standards, and client requirements
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering
- Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG
- Identify and help mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals
Qualifications
- Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience, 3 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry
- Revit experience preferred
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
- Familiar use of Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
- Knowledge in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook

Pay
Salary Range: $56,000 – $76,000 Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
