Must have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance when necessary for work on a project that requires such a clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the research, development, design, and test of hardware/firmware components, equipment and systems.
  • Provides analysis related to the design, development and implementation.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Hardware/firmware for embedded systems used in aerospace and defense mission applications.
  • Develop and implement FPGA logic using VHDL or Verilog for signal processing, communications, and control applications.
  • Write, optimize, and debug firmware for bare-metal and RTOS-based embedded microcontroller/microprocessor systems (ARM, PowerPC, etc.).
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to review schematics, PCB layouts, and interface designs to ensure firmware compatibility.
  • Develop firmware drivers for peripherals including UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, PCIe, and MIL-STD-1553/ARINC-429.
  • Participate in the full firmware development lifecycle: requirements capture, design, coding, unit testing, integration, and verification.
  • Apply DO-254 and/or DO-178C standards where applicable for airborne avionics and defense systems.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including design specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), and test procedures.
  • Support hardware bring-up, lab debugging, and field integration activities.
  • Work within configuration management systems (Git, SVN) and adhere to established development processes and coding standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $99,092 – $165,154.

Additional compensation may include an annual or quarterly company bonus based on position assignment, and shift premiums for alternative shifts where applicable.
