Electrical Design Engineer - High-Rise Buildings

We are seeking a Mid to Senior-Level Electrical Engineer with strong commercial building design experience to join an established MEP engineering team in Fort Lauderdale. This position is ideal for an engineer with hands-on experience designing electrical systems for high-rise and complex commercial buildings and advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD. The engineer will take ownership of electrical design and construction documentation for projects including high-rise offices, condominiums, hotels, municipal facilities, industrial buildings, airports, and other complex structures. You will work closely with other MEP disciplines to develop coordinated, code-compliant electrical systems from initial design through construction documentation. Key Responsibilities Design electrical systems for high-rise commercial buildings, condominiums, hotels, and other complex facilitiesDevelop and maintain electrical construction documents, drawings, layouts, details, and specifications using Revit and AutoCADPerform electrical calculations, load requirements, equipment selections, and system layoutsApply applicable electrical codes, standards, and engineering practices throughout the design processReview architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to identify conflicts and maintain coordinated construction documentsCollaborate with mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and other engineering disciplines on multidisciplinary projectsReview drawings and project documentation for accuracy, constructability, and consistency prior to issuanceAssist with construction-phase questions, technical coordination, and design-related issuesTake ownership of assigned electrical design work and contribute to project delivery from design through construction documentation Requirements 5+ years of electrical engineering or building design experience, preferably within an MEP consulting environmentProven experience designing electrical systems for high-rise buildings and/or complex commercial projectsAdvanced proficiency with Revit and AutoCADExperience with commercial projects such as offices, condominiums, hotels, airports, industrial facilities, municipal buildings, or similar structuresStrong understanding of electrical building systems, applicable codes, and engineering design practicesAbility to interpret and coordinate architectural, structural, electrical, and other MEP construction documentsDemonstrated hands-on electrical design and documentation experienceStrong communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsLocal South Florida MEP consulting experience is strongly preferredResidential-only electrical design experience will not be sufficient for this position Benefits Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience.
