About the role

A mid-size established architecture firm specializing in healthcare, federal, civic, and education projects is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 6+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical design and quality control for assigned projects, including electrical system calculations and layouts.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure fully coordinated electrical designs.
  • Apply and uphold best practices in engineering methods.
  • Oversee and contribute to the production of design documents from concept to detailed design for new construction, renovations, and facility additions.
  • Develop comprehensive project specifications.
  • Identify and implement strategies to enhance cost efficiency.
  • Participate in project coordination meetings with clients and owners.
  • Conduct construction administration tasks, including site visits and shop drawing reviews.
  • Mentor and support electrical designers.
  • Assist the director with quality assurance reviews on projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architectural or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience with a strong background in electrical systems.
  • Proven experience in designing electrical systems for healthcare, higher education, or commercial buildings.
  • Familiarity with the National Electric Code (NEC), energy codes, and other relevant industry standards.
  • Project management experience required.

Qualifications

  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam required.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred, but not required.
  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and willingness to use insured personal vehicle in the course of employment.
