Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze technical information from a variety of sources, including conversations with engineers, product managers, suppliers, technical documents, operation of equipment, and your own tests & experiments.
  • Maintain design concepts for circuits and systems, involving analog and digital design techniques and interface sensors with microcontrollers.
  • Design, implement, and test electrical circuits to demonstrate compliance with specifications.
  • Prepare technical design and production documentation.
  • Define measurement techniques, tuning procedures, and special test fixtures for production use.
  • Develop Desktop (Windows and Linux) applications.
  • Design for embedded Linux systems.
  • Design for bare-metal embedded systems.
  • Serve as an expert within the department for a design-related field and provide consulting to others on technical matters.
  • Coordinate product sustaining activities with other personnel, including the flow of information and documentation to other departments.
  • Evaluate feasibility and applicability of newer technologies and methods to existing products and designs.
  • Meet or exceed typical expectations for creativity, productivity, quality, and safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering college or university.
  • Engineer II, 2 - 4 years of experience (Advanced Degree in lieu of experience).
  • Engineer III, 4 - 6 years of experience (Advanced Degree in lieu of experience).
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, developing embedded firmware for 8/16/32-bit microcontrollers in C/C++.
  • Knowledge of, experience in, developing application software for embedded Linux systems (Qt/C++).
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, developing desktop applications in C# or Python.
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, common communications busses such as SPI, I2C, RS232, and CAN.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Results-driven and action-oriented; positive and energetic.
  • High degree of personal and professional integrity.
  • Good problem-analysis and resolution skills.
  • Strong process orientation and drive for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical engineering.
  • Experience with ECAD software.
  • Experience with microcontroller programming in C/C++.
  • Experience with embedded Linux system development.
  • Experience with desktop application development in C# or Python.
  • Experience with common communication busses.
