Electrical Design Engineer
Position Summary
An Electrical Design Engineer is a member of our multi-disciplinary design team and will work alongside our engineering leadership. This Design Engineer will have opportunities to work on various types of renovation and new construction projects for commercial, multi-tenant residential and institutional building types, including health care, technology, utilities & education markets.
Essential Functions
- Drafting of electrical construction drawings including details, plans & sections.
- Electrical load and energy calculations
- Design of electrical power and lighting systems
- Design of fire alarm systems
- Selecting electrical equipment
- Coinciding with other engineering and architectural trades during design
- Developing construction documents in AutoCAD and Revit
- Participating in developing details, equipment schedules and specifications
- Researching and assessing building performance and other regulations
- Contributing to design discussions and carrying design concept through to project drawings
- Contributing to sustainable design discussions and implementing sustainable strategies
- Coinciding and communicating with other team members
Position Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Aided Drafting
- Minimum 8-years of experience working for a consulting engineering firm
- Ability to work with minimal assistance from senior staff
- PE not required but a plus
- AutoCAD and/or Revit experience required
