Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical schematics, control systems, wiring harnesses, and printed circuit board (PCB) layouts.
- Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Optimize electrical designs for production efficiency, cost reduction, and high assembly yields.
- Prototyping & Testing: Build, test, and troubleshoot electrical prototypes, develop test fixtures, and analyze performance data.
- Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), assembly drawings, and technical documentation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with mechanical and manufacturing engineers to integrate electrical components into broader product designs.
- Production Support: Support legacy and new product lines by evaluating component obsolescence, root-cause failure analysis, and continuous quality improvements.
- Compliance: Ensure all electrical designs adhere to industry safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in electrical design, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Software Skills: Proficiency with industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, Altium Designer, OrCAD, or SolidWorks Electrical).
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Strong understanding of DFM principles, PCB fabrication, and electronic testing methodologies.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to utilize simulation tools, perform statistical methods (e.g., FMEA), and conduct thorough failure analysis.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
