Mission Description
Northwest Aerospace Technologies (NAT), a Safran Company, is the only EASA DOA Certified aircraft interior reconfiguration group in the United States. Focusing on commercial and military aircrafts, NAT provides first-class services in design, engineering, quality, certification, and manufacturing for a variety of Blue Chip customers.
Scope of Work
- Support the design, development and substantiation of the installation of electrical components and systems into retrofit aircraft applications.
- Communicate with customers and fellow team members. Present technical content to a wide audience and provide guidance and input to other team members as well as team members from other disciplines.
- Break down a Statement of Work (SOW) into smaller work packages and allocate work packages to other engineers.
- Prepare engineering products using applicable computer tools and programs, maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and safety in product designs.
- Ensure that NAT’s drawings and documents meet the standards established by the NAT quality system, customer requirements, and the applicable certification authority.
- Grow in experience by accepting tasks in multiple disciplines of the aerospace industry, including structures, interiors, and systems functions.
- Develop peer review check packages for generated engineering drawings.
- Ensure the design content conforms to the company quality system procedures as documented, the customer Statement of Work, along with applicable certification requirements.
- Work with Operational Design Authority (ODA) UM’s and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Certification Verification Engineers (CVE’s) to ensure designs are compliant to airworthiness requirements.
- Cookordination with engineers from other disciplines within the company to accomplish tasks.
- Responsible to perform the activities listed in two (2) of the following three (3) electrical disciplines:
- System Design Engineering Discipline
- Installation Engineering Discipline
- Substantiation Engineering Discipline
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience) with 2–5+ years in aerospace.
- Broad technical experience in aerospace applications.
- Ability to mentor and support junior engineers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
Skills/Abilities
- Able to mentor less experienced engineering personnel in field of expertise.
- Minimal coordination with customers, suppliers, and interdepartmental personnel required.
- Drawing management.
- Troubleshooting/problem solving.
- Ability to work independently or within a team.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Understanding of customer’s expectations.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task effectively, and work under pressure.
- Superior attention to detail.
Working Conditions
- Primarily office work.
- Consistent use of computer keyboard and monitor.
- Does require fluent communication in English.
- Protracted or irregular hours may be required.
- Must be comfortable working to meet firm deadlines, thus completing work on time.
Physical Requirements
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
