Electrical Design Associate – Intern

ESCO Group is structured into three core business units: ESCO Automation, ESCO Electric, and ESCO Power & Safety. The company provides plant automation, electrical construction, electrical design, and electrical safety training services. With over 400 professionals, ESCO focuses on developing efficient solutions for clients in industrial, food and beverage, seed/agriculture, oilseed, municipal, and OEM markets. The Electrical Design Associate Intern role is situated within the technical delivery structure of ESCO Automation, offering students the opportunity to learn and gain practical experience on a multi‑discipline electrical design team while acquiring various electrical design skills and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Observing and assisting in the development of electrical design projects of small to medium size and limited complexity, including control panel wiring schematics, panel layouts, bills of materials, and control system documentation.
• Performing project tasks under direct supervision while adhering to scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
• Utilizing, supporting, and enhancing ESCO’s standards and best practices.
• Understanding and following all safety, conduct, and policy requirements established by ESCO and clients.

Requirements

• Enrollment in or completion of an associate or bachelor’s degree program in engineering or a related discipline from an accredited college, technical school, or university.

Skills

• Education or training in electrical design.
• Education or training in electrical fundamentals such as voltage, current, and resistance.
• Education or training in the use of AutoCAD Electrical or Eplan Electric P8.
