Electrical Design Associate – Intern

About the role

ESCO Group is structured into three core business units—ESCO Automation, ESCO Electric, and ESCO Power & Safety. The company provides plant automation, electrical construction, electrical design, and electrical safety training, serving markets such as industrial, food and beverage, seed/agriculture, oilseed, municipals, and OEM. The Electrical Design Associate Intern position is within the technical delivery structure of ESCO Automation, offering students practical experience on a multi‑discipline electrical design team.

Responsibilities

• Observe and assist in the development of electrical design projects of small to medium size and limited complexity, including control panel wiring schematics, panel layouts, bills of materials, and control system documentation.
• Perform project tasks under direct supervision while adhering to scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
• Utilize, support, and enhance ESCO’s standards and best practices.
• Understand and follow all safety, conduct, and policy requirements established by ESCO and its clients.

Requirements

• Enrollment in or completion of an associate or bachelor’s degree program in engineering or a related discipline from an accredited college, technical school, or university.
• Education or training in electrical design (preferred).
• Education or training in electrical fundamentals such as voltage, current, and resistance.
• Education or training in the use of AutoCAD Electrical or Eplan Electric P8.
