Responsibilities

  • Proficient in both electrical power (AC and DC) and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with specific mission-critical systems, including:
    • Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) and batteries
    • Power Distribution Units (PDUs)
    • Standby generators and fuel systems
    • Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)
    • Building Management Systems (BMS) and Energy Management Systems (EPMS)
  • Use various electrical testing equipment, including multimeters, DLROs, and infrared scanning tools, for diagnostics and preventative maintenance.
  • Read and interpret complex schematics and blueprints.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or greater
  • 6+ years' work experience, including 3+ years of direct experience in a critical facility operation, such as a data center or hospital.
  • Must have a current Hawaii State Journeyman License or be able to obtain within one year of hire.
  • Must pass Hawaii state journeyman license within first year of employment.
  • Must have experience with switchgear, generators, UPS or significant other electrical experiences.

Abilities

  • The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to [50 pounds] on a regular basis.
  • Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
  • Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  • Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
  • May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
  • Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
  • Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
  • See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

Pay

USD $34.00 - USD $45.23 /Hr.
