Electrical Control Technician

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and instrumentation equipment.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and control systems.
  • Diagnose and repair low- and high-voltage electrical issues.
  • Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs, DCS, and HMI systems.
  • Optimize control system performance for continuous improvement.
  • Follow safety protocols, including LOTO, OSHA, and NFPA 70E compliance.
  • Maintain documentation for calibrations, wiring diagrams, and modifications.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams.
  • Assist in operator and technician training on control systems.
  • Provide input on system upgrades, new installations, and automation projects.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of electrical/instrumentation maintenance experience in industrial settings.
  • Proficiency with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), DCS, SCADA, and control systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical circuits and instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus).
  • Ability to read schematics, P&IDs, and electrical diagrams.
  • Understanding of 480V power distribution, transformers, and grounding.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience with high-voltage equipment, rotating machinery, and elevated workspaces.
  • Availability for overtime, on-call duty, and emergency response as needed.
