Electrical Construction Technology Instructor

Position Summary

The instructor is responsible for managing, maintaining, and supervising their course of study. The instructor is responsible for course development, delivery, and assessment. The instructor reports directly to the lead instructor or program director.

Essential Job Functions

• Maintain the course of study by reviewing syllabi, course curriculum, books
• Aid in the selection and review of library resources to keep them current for the course of study
• Enforce college policies and procedures with program students
• Maintain a safe learning environment within program areas
• Submit student book/tool kit/parts information to the lead instructor or department chair
• Work with Academics to develop scheduling and transferability of coursework
• Provide student advisement and assistance when necessary
• Promote the program and assist with the procurement of educational resources and equipment
• Participate in college committees, activities, and events
• Participation in professional organizations
• Assist the Continuing Education Department as required
• Complete other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Associate's degree is required, with at least 4 years of experience in electrical construction.
• Strong communication skills, the ability to teach, expertise in their program area, good managerial skills, knowledge of industry standards, assessment skills, and organizational and word-processing skills.

Enforce college policies and procedures with all students and within their course of study.
