Electrical Construction/Installation Field Supervisor

About the role

TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking an Electrical Construction/Installation Field Supervisor to join our team in Hayward, California. This role involves supervising technicians and performing on-site installation of electronic, electro-mechanical, and low voltage electrical equipment. Responsibilities span field support, including supervision, equipment installation, system hardware and software configuration, PC usage, and IP telephony/networking/wireless networking.

The Field Supervisor supports the Installation Manager in evaluating and determining the most cost-effective and practical installation methods to minimize customer downtime and expense, as well as assisting in the preparation of proposals for time, labor, and materials.

Responsibilities

• Equipment installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Generates documentation supporting installation activity, including updates and status.
• Assists in the evaluation and generation of proposals detailing time, labor, materials, and equipment required for tasks.
• Works closely with the Installation Manager to determine the best solutions when interfacing with customers.
• Assists with the training of technicians on newly installed equipment.
• Supports the Installation Manager with preparation of as-built documentation and procedures for new equipment installation.
• Coordinates subcontractors assisting in field support efforts.
• Supervises labor required to perform tasks.
• Provides support for installation technicians.
• Ensures company policies, safety guidelines, and procedures are followed.

Requirements

• Prior management experience preferred.
• Typically requires 6 years of experience, including 1 year in a leadership role.
• Detailed record-keeping through observation.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite.
• Knowledge of roadway electrical and civil construction.
• Experience with equipment operation (aerial lifts, commercial vehicles).
• Experience with a vast array of hand tools and their operation.
• Experience with ITS device installation and troubleshooting.
• Must maintain a driver’s license in good standing as verified by TransCore.

Pay

Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000 annually, based upon experience.
