The Electrical Commissioning Specialist 2 works as a team with Commissioning Engineers to support commissioning activities with minimal supervision, applying intermediate proficiency technical knowledge to assist in testing and validating systems. This intermediate-level role contributes to project success by ensuring compliance with standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute basic commissioning plans and procedures in collaboration with project teams and work with these teams to ensure systems meet performance standards.
  • Execute and lead intermediate commissioning tasks, including conducting testing and validation of systems and equipment to include analyzing data and validating system functionality.
  • Prepare and review intermediate-level electrical sketches, CX plans, and data sheets, and perform some advanced electrical calculations as required during testing.
  • Assist in review of supplier documentation for compliance with specifications.
  • Gather and document data during commissioning activities to support engineering analysis.
  • Document and report commissioning results and findings to more senior Engineers and Project Managers.
  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnosis of electrical systems to resolve issues encountered during commissioning activities.
  • Follow safety guidelines and best practices in all commissioning activities.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project objectives are met on schedule.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of commissioning activities.
  • Provide technical support to project teams and stakeholders during commissioning activities.
  • Assist more experienced Commissioning Specialists and Engineers with coordinating and reviewing electrical deliverables.
  • Perform testing, startup, and commissioning of low and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment, including breakers, transformers, switches, switchgear, relays, and motor control centers, as well as other electrical apparatus both in the field and in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant electrical experience with HS diploma or GED, OR associate’s degree with minimum 6+ years of relevant electrical experience, OR Bachelor’s degree with minimum 2+ years of relevant electrical experience.
  • Understanding of sophisticated electrical distribution systems and complex electrical test equipment.
