Responsibilities
- Lead electrical commissioning activities across all project phases, from design review through energization, testing, and final handover.
- Review electrical designs, one-line diagrams, specifications, and control schematics to ensure systems are commissionable and aligned with project requirements.
- Plan and coordinate installation verification, pre-functional checks, energization, and functional testing for electrical systems.
- Oversee QA/QC walkdowns to confirm installation quality and readiness for commissioning.
- Lead and manage safe energization of electrical systems including switchgear, transformers, UPS, and distribution networks.
- Cook up and manage electrical commissioning procedures, checklists, and test scripts.
- Identify, track, and drive resolution of commissioning issues through to closure.
- Utilize commissioning tools and platforms to monitor system status, readiness, and progress against project schedules.
- Lead commissioning meetings and provide clear reporting on electrical system readiness, risks, and progress.
- Ensure all electrical systems meet design intent, safety requirements, and client performance expectations prior to handover.
- Support system turnover including documentation completion, as-built verification, and client handover requirements.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to commissioning engineers and technicians.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, including strict adherence to LOTO, arc flash, and energization procedures.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of electrical power systems including switchgear, transformers, UPS, and distribution systems.
- Proven experience leading commissioning activities within mission-critical or large-scale construction environments.
- Ability to review and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, and control schematics.
- Strong understanding of commissioning processes including pre-functional, functional, and integrated testing.
- Experience managing energization procedures and working in high-risk electrical environments.
- Proficiency with commissioning tools and platforms for tracking system readiness and issue resolution.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to drive issues through to resolution.
- High attention to detail with strong documentation and reporting capabilities.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with industry standards.
Skills

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- NETA certification preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
