Electrical Co-Op

Responsibilities

• Uses design criteria document(s) to meet the project objectives
• Ensures quality and technical accuracy of assigned deliverables
• Follows the BSI Standard Operating Procedures and Client Standards
• Performs necessary calculations and design effort to prepare deliverables
• Collaborates with Designers on a project
• Mets individual schedule and budget objectives on assigned projects
• Assists in the design of low voltage (600 and below) power distribution systems
• Assists in short circuit/arc flash/coordination and load studies
• Designs MCCs, including single lines and layout of MCCs
• Designs grounding and lightning protection systems
• Designs special systems, including telephone, data, fire alarm and communication systems
• Designs cable tray and conduit systems
• Assists in the design of electrical heat tracing and lighting systems
• Occasionally interfaces with other design discipline counterparts and project management
• Identifies and communicates scope changes for discipline

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Developing written and oral communication skills
• Managing multiple tasks
• Preferred exposure to Microsoft Access
• Desired exposure to IECC design requirements
• Understanding of the National Electrical Code and hazardous area classification requirements
