Responsibilities
- Uses design criteria document(s) to meet the project objectives
- Ensures quality and technical accuracy of assigned deliverables
- Follows the BSI Standard Operating Procedures and Client Standards
- Performs necessary calculations and design effort to prepare deliverables
- Collaborates with Designers on a project
- Mets individual schedule and budget objectives on assigned projects
- Assists in the design of low voltage (600 and below) power distribution systems
- Assists in short circuit/arc flash/coordination and load studies
- Designs MCCs, including single lines and layout of MCCs
- Designs grounding and lightning protection systems
- Designs special systems, including telephone, data, fire alarm and communication systems
- Designs cable tray and conduit systems
- Assists in the design of electrical heat tracing and lighting systems
- Occasionally interfaces with other design discipline counterparts and project management
- Identifies and communicates scope changes for discipline
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Developing written and oral communication skills
- Managing multiple tasks
- Preferred exposure to Microsoft Access
- Desired exposure to IECC design requirements
- Understanding of the National Electrical Code and hazardous area classification requirements
