About the role

The buildUP Foundation is hosting an Electrical Bootcamp, a six-week, hands-on pre-apprenticeship training program at Salt Lake Community College (SLCC). This program is designed to help motivated individuals transition into the electrical trade by teaching essential techniques, safety practices, and providing a direct network with potential employers.

Responsibilities

  • Earn industry certifications required by contractors before interviewing.
  • Spend real-time lab experience in SLCC's electrical facility, including wiring panels, bending conduit, and reading blueprints.
  • Gain insights and advice from experienced professionals in various electrical fields.
  • Participate in resume workshops, mock interviews, and hiring sessions with local contractors.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • A proactive approach to safety and a strong willingness to learn.
  • Reliable teamwork, communication skills, and a commitment to daily learning.
  • No prior construction or electrical experience is necessary; foundational skills are taught.
