Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Maintenance E&A team through coaching, training, performance management, and day-to-day supervision.
- Champion a strong safety culture, including leading safety initiatives, conducting audits and risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting support for electrical, automation, and process control systems, including PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, MCCs, instrumentation, MES, industrial networks, and related infrastructure.
- Investigate equipment downtime, quality deviations, and operational incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain and continually improve automation, process control, and electrical system documentation, drawings, and standards.
- Ensure the reliability, performance, and maintainability of electrical, automation, and Factory Automation System (FAS) infrastructure.
- Manage change control processes, including Automation Change Management and Management of Change (MOC) requirements.
- Oversee the site instrument calibration program to ensure regulatory, quality, and operational compliance.
- Modify and optimize automation applications to support operational and production line improvements.
- Standardize automation and electrical equipment across the facility to improve reliability, efficiency, and supportability.
- Build technical capabilities across the plant through coaching and training of mechanics, operators, and E&A team members.
- Support Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) initiatives through active participation in operational reviews, continuous improvement projects, and DMAIC activities.
- Ensure compliance with all Nestlé, OSHA, NFPA, HACCP, food safety, and local regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate contractor activities and verify adherence to safety, food safety, and risk management requirements.
- Support plant production, quality, and operational objectives as directed by site leadership.
- Manage team schedules, time administration, and completion of required training programs.
System Maintenance
- Analyze the existing E&A infrastructure and installed base, developing technology roadmaps and improvement plans as needed.
- Establish and maintain preventive maintenance programs for equipment, machinery, facility systems, and automation assets.
- Ensure power quality and the integrity of electrical distribution systems.
- Coordinate and schedule all required equipment and instrumentation calibrations.
- Oversee the procurement and inventory management of maintenance tools, parts, and supplies to support plant operations.
Project Management & Execution
- Manage vendor relationships and contractor performance.
- Lead the planning, budgeting, and execution of medium- to large-scale electrical and automation projects.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, resource plans, cost estimates, and implementation strategies.
- Prepare bid specifications, participate in design reviews, and support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
- Oversee equipment installations and ensure compliance with applicable safety, engineering, and Nestlé standards.
- Participate in the annual budgeting process and establish departmental labor and expense targets.
Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute the site's E&A strategy, including prioritization, resource planning, and technology roadmaps.
- Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing to strengthen E&A team capabilities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and plant performance.
- Serve as a safety leader and role model, ensuring ongoing implementation and sustainability of corporate safety programs.
- Act as a member of the HACCP team, when required, in support of the site's Food Safety Plan.
