Electrical Assembler II
About the role
Bartelt Packaging is searching for an experienced Electrical Assembler II to join our team. The Electrical Assembler II will assemble components in control panels/cabinets and install electrical wiring for Bartelt Packaging machines. Responsibilities include performing machine wiring independently, completing all phases of electrical requirements, reading electrical blueprints, installing components such as relays, controls, and other types of controllers, laying out diagrams for electrical installations according to wiring specifications, examining parts for defects, routing wiring to panels, drilling and tapping holes, attaching control units, cutting, stripping, bending, and forming wire, using electrical testing and gauging devices, soldering connections, crimping connectors, performing final machine wiring, assisting in testing and adjusting electrical assemblies, and recording labor hours.
Responsibilities
- Assemble components in control panels/cabinets and install electrical wiring for Bartelt Packaging machines.
- Perform machine wiring independently and complete all phases of electrical requirements.
- Read electrical blueprints and install components such as relays, controls and other types of controllers on electrical panels.
- Lay out diagram for electrical installations according to wiring specifications.
- Receive parts kit from inventory; examine parts for defects such as pinholes or chips.
- Cleanly route wiring to panel according to diagram.
- Drill and tap holes in specified locations on the machine for mounting control units.
- Attach breakers, relays, contactors, transformers, insulators, regulator cabinets, condenser units, motor and generator sets, meters, plugging devices, and fuse blocks to mounting holes with bolts and screws.
- Cut, strip, bend, and form wire cable, conduit, pipe, and tubing used to connect circuits and subassemblies.
- Use a variety of electrical testing and gauging devices.
- Solder connections and crimp connectors to wire ends.
- Perform final machine wiring.
- Assist in testing and adjusting electrical assemblies.
- Record labor hours correctly using the Enterprise Resource Planning system.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; technical certificate from a trade school.
- 5+ years of related experience.
- Ability to research and read engineering drawings using a drawing database program.
- Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide using two-digit numbers, tens, and hundreds; apply calculations to money, weight, volume, and distance.
- Strong reading comprehension for instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Dependable, reliable, and committed to teamwork.
Qualifications
